Our Story
2012 – Supplying great value craft products on Halesowen Market
Back in 2012, as enthusiastic crafters, Julie and Luke found themselves getting frustrated with the lack of high quality value for money products available in their area. This led them to look further and further afield to source their growing craft projects. Once they started finding better value and good quality items to use for their own craft projects, then friends and family members requested they source products for them aswell. This made the pair realise that there may be other people in the area struggling with the same problem.
Following this, in 2012, Crafts Forever was born when Julie and Luke decided to hire a market stall at Halesowen Saturday Market. This enabled us to bring great value craft products to the wider public so they could enjoy the same fun from their crafting experience.
2013 – Moving online to supply great value craft products
Over the next couple of years, stock levels grew and the variety of products they could offer increased dramatically thanks to the support of satisfied loyal customers. However as Luke was going off to University in Leicester their ability to run the market stall became limited, so they had to look for alternative ways of reaching their customers. The pair began listing items on eBay and letting their customers know.
This turned out to be a great success and they realised that it was not just in their area that people lacked a choice of craft supplies. After realising that they were listing lots of items at a time and their customers did not have a single place to view all the products. Crafts Forever launched their eBay Shop in 2013, so their customers could view and market stall collections on-line and get them posted the next day.
Over the following few years, interest on eBay grew and grew creating loyal on-line customers, to the extent to which the pair had to stop the market stall because their customers preferred to purchase on-line and the time constraints of running the eBay shop.
2016 – New website launches
Luke finished University and the pair were ready to take their ambition for crafting to the next level and a wider range of people through the launch of this new website.
